The Melodio Endowment Fund supports people with disabilities who, despite life's adversities, want to work on themselves and develop their life attitudes, careers, and quality relationships. To help them achieve this, the Melodio Endowment Fund provides professional coaches and lecturers.
This year's Christmas concert is subtitled Melodio for Jiří. Due to a brain tumor, Jiří is partially paralyzed and is struggling to find a job or start a family of his own. Goals that might seem mundane to some, but much like health – a person only realizes how valuable it is when they lose it. Jiří has already started working with coach Kateřina Pešková and is determined to open up opportunities for both finding employment and building a family through self-improvement.
What did Advent in Prague sound like during the Baroque era? – This will be brought to life for us by the En Arché Chamber Choir. It was founded by Vojtěch Jouza, a member of the Czech Philharmonic. The choir members are united by a passion for beautiful music from various stylistic periods, though they are most devoted to the Baroque. In the nearly 30 years of its existence, the choir has won awards at international competitions and frequently performs at concerts in the Czech Republic and abroad (Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Belgium). En Arché also collaborates with the Prague Baroque Ensemble and orchestras (Czech Philharmonic, Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic, North Bohemian State Philharmonic Teplice, Hradec Králové Philharmonic, Pilsen Philharmonic).
You can look forward to Kateřina Morozová, a singer and lover of musical theatre, who will present her compositional debut at the concert, A Christmas Miracle.
And there will also be a surprise for Saint Nicholas Day….
