Indian Summer Cooking, Sep 10, 2023
Imagine a green garden, plenty of diverse dishes, varied musical performances, and gorgeous weather. That was this year's Indian Summer Cooking event. Supporters of the Melodio vision came together—we combined the experience of music with helping others.
Music? Anna Raková, songwriter and singer, performed her crystal-clear original songs with deep lyrics, including three in a duet with Simona. Singer Alice Muller took a completely different approach, taking over the microphone and keyboards with a sharp rock edge. According to her own words, Alice Muller is used to having a band behind her, but she rocked the stage brilliantly even as a solo singer without a band! Throughout the day, we all sang "Ia Orana," a Tahitian song, together with Lucie Nozizwe's choir, Ubuntu. Although they are from Unhošť, they sing African gospel! Elton "Elly Jay" Lodewyk provided a fantastic dance finale.
And the Food? The winners of the cooking competition in the sweet and savory categories took home lovely prizes. Mr. and Mrs. Gotthard brought wonderful German wines. The judges had a real puzzle on their hands: what to do with the homemade ice cream that didn't receive a single rating because the kids devoured it the moment it appeared on the scene! They devoured it and didn't write a review…. Why would they? They ran off to play soccer 😊
And Melodio? Those who were meant to meet did meet. Everyone learned about the October Melodio concert for Libor so they could invite their friends in time.
